We talked extensively about the most important protection, the helmet, in the previous article.
But it is also very important to protect the limbs to avoid injuries.
In a dynamic sport like snowboarding, it is important to know and have the right protections if necessary.
Knee pads
They help to cushion any “blows” and also to increase comfort when you are leaning on the snow to take a photo. Especially recommended for those who are inexperienced or beginners.
There are also knee pads with relative shin guards designed for those who want to box or rail in the snowpark and protect themselves from any impacts with the structures.
Coccyx
Having protection in this point proves to be very advantageous to avoid pain and possible complications. The coccyx shorts are recommended to be worn under snow pants and with new material technologies that stiffen only at the moment of impact.
Attention: choose the right model (man/woman/child) and the right size.
It has a “challenging” cost if it has the above characteristics.
Also in this case, in addition to protecting, it increases comfort when you are sitting on the snow waiting for friends or before leaving for a jump. Recommended for all levels.
Back protector
In addition to protecting your back, it is very useful for absorbing vibrations and supporting your back during jumps on the track and jumps in the park.
The protector must be snug against the back, so it must have bands to adjust and tighten it.
The vest model is recommended.
Also suitable for the neophyte but above all for the experienced rider!
Wrist guards
There are those to be used underneath or those built into the glove.
There are conflicting opinions regarding this protection.
It is true that it protects the wrists but in some cases then everything is transferred to the forearms / arms and it may not be an advantage.
To be used but with caution.
Recommendations
Better to “invest” a little more money and buy or rent quality protection.
They will be more comfortable and less bulky and we will use them more often.
Protections will not make you “invincible” and will not protect you from any “blows”….
He also uses a little prudence and head and a master if necessary.
