When snowboarding, the backpackis very useful and in some cases indispensable.
Here are a few tips.
Freeride: mandatory and to be worn.
It must contain the shovel, probe, a small first aid kit, h2O, skins/poles if you go with the SPLITBOARD, spare lens or mask, GoPro, etc…
Freestyle: bring it and it would be better to leave it in the snowpark or at the start of the lifts.
It can be useful to put H2O, sweatshirt/jacket if you are hot, something to eat, spare lens or mask, etc.
You only do tracks: you can take it with you.
Pay attention to what you put in it and the characteristics of the backpack. It must be ergonomic, with drawstrings at the waist and chest and must not contain dangerous objects in the event of a fall.
Snowboard in summer on the glacier: essential to bring.
It must contain H2O (very important) and something to eat.
Then put a jacket/sweatshirt/gloves/helmet, neck warmer in it and as you go up with the cable car you understand what the weather and temperatures are like and cover up if necessary.
A spare lens or mask and an extra pair of gloves may be useful.
As you can easily guess, you need a fairly large backpack that you then leave in a safe place on the glacier.
In all cases where it is advisable to leave the backpack, remember:
- to leave it in a “safe” place, normally where there are others or at the start of the lifts by asking the staff
- which must not contain money, documents, GoPro, reflex, car keys, etc.
- that a padlock to tie it down could help
- to trust others
